The main outputs by FriMat are:

Excellence in scientific publications (papers, conferences, posters, talks,…)
A Specialized Master Program in the field of generation and analysis of advanced materials
Partnership for research and industry
Knowledge pool – also for users from outside
Instrumentation pool – also for users from outside
New Nanomaterials
FriMat will function as an interdisciplinary team of researchers in order to tackle with the above mentioned focus areas.

Social Benefits

When successful research is turned into useful products with more functions, which use less material to build, less energy to operate and create less waste at the end, the quality of life and health of the public will be improved.
Our research effort will contribute to the knowledge-based economy of Switzerland, and ensure that Nanomaterials science does not become an area in which our industrialists become dependent on technology licensed from other countries.
FriMat contributes to the education and training of young researchers in the field of Nanomaterials. Thus it ensures that local industries can recruit from a pool of well trained and highly motivated scientists.
FriMat will also serve to promote the responsible use of Nanomaterials in Switzerland. By educating the public, the public awareness of the true nature of Nanomaterials and relevant advanced products will be increased.
